MTD doesn't have to be a chore.

Get your business MTD-ready for VAT, ITSA, and Corporation Tax — software setup, digital records, training, and ongoing submissions.

What's included

  • Assessment of your current bookkeeping setup
  • Migration to MTD-compatible software (Xero, paired with TaxCalc for filings)
  • Setup of digital records and bank feeds
  • Quarterly digital submissions to HMRC
  • Staff training and ongoing tech support
  • Year-end tax return reconciliation

MTD is HMRC’s way of dragging UK tax into the cloud era. It started with VAT, it’s coming for income tax in 2026, and Corporation Tax sometime after.

The good news: once you’re set up properly, MTD is genuinely easier than the old way. Bank transactions flow into your books automatically, you can see your tax position any time, and the quarterly submissions take minutes. We handle the migration, the setup, and the submissions.

Common questions

When does MTD ITSA start?

MTD for Income Tax Self-Assessment starts April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with income over £50,000, then April 2027 for income over £30,000. The deadline keeps shifting, but it's coming — better to be ready early.

What if my income is under the threshold?

You're not mandated, but many clients find that going digital is easier anyway — instant tax estimates, less January stress, and your books are always up to date. We can do it without making it a big deal.

Can I keep using spreadsheets?

Only if they're connected to MTD-compliant 'bridging software' that submits the right data to HMRC. We can set this up if you really love your spreadsheets, but most people find a cloud bookkeeping tool easier.
